AnonymousMostly emotional invective that got away with its ambiguity and righteousness by being “above answering questions.” Still, amazing to look at, every actor is perfectly cast, Giorgos Lanthimos seems like a major visual talent; though when he makes whatever leap he’s going to, the opaqueness and mutability of his ideas may not hang together as well.
It’s been said, but it really is one of the most unusual Oscar nominees ever. The sort of ill-defined, grotesque thing that never gets a look. I think it has no shot to win; would be fantastic if it did though. Everything else nominated seems dull or inconsistent. Biutiful is a mess.
